RECOMMENDED MATERIALS & TOOLS LIST

Materials

SureSeal/SuperSeal Complete aluminum glazing system with EPDM gaskets & fasteners
Perimeter Glazing extrusion designed to accept glazing on one side
Thermal Break Perimeter Perimeter extrusions thermally broken from exterior to interior
Intermediate Glazing extrusion designed to hold glazing on both sides
Low Profile Intermediate Sloped application horizontal purlins with glazing above and below
Regular Cap Cap with SPDM gaskets
Bevel Cap Cap with 1/16” glazing tape for use over low profile intermediates and over bottom perimeter for low slope applications
SureSeal Trim Trim that goes in both Regular and Bevel Cap
Gaskets EPDM gaskets to support and seal the glazing. Regular gasket is supplied for 1” or 5/8” glazing. Thicker gaskets are available at additional cost for use with thinner glazing such as 1/4”.
T-Bar Aluminum extrusions cut to 2” for glazing panel support
Setting Blocks EPDM or Neoprene rubber blocks for support of glass
Silicone or Urethane Sealant For sealing of metal and gasket junctions
Touch-up Paint To match extrusion color
Solvent For cleaning metal and glass prior to sealant application
Aluminum Sheet,
.040” or .032”
For fabrication of flashing
Nails, screws, pop rivets For attaching flashing



Tools

Power Miter Box To cut aluminum extrusions
Saw Blade 60 or 80 tooth non-ferrous metals carbide tipped blade
Hand Electric Drill or Drillpress For drilling mounting and weep holes in SureSeal extrusions
Drill Bits 1/4” for base and cap screws, 1/8” & 3/16” for weep holes
Cordless Drill w/clutch For tightening base and cap screws
Hex driver sockets/bits To use with clutch drill to tighten hex head screws
Caulking Gun For sealant application
Rubber or plastic mallet For trim strip application
Tin Snips For cutting flashing
Pop rivet tool To fasten pop rivets
Safety Goggles For personal protection while cutting & drilling metal
Ear Protectors For personal protection while cutting & drilling metal
