FRAMING
The SureSeal Glazing System is designed to be used with several types of framing materials, the most common being nominal 4X dimension lumber (4 x 4), set on centers (center of screw race to center of screw race in base extrusion) of 1-1/4” to 1-3/4” larger than the glass dimension to be used. Ideally, we recommend a center to center measurement horizontally and vertically of 1-1/2” larger than the glass unit to be used. This gives the glass unit at least 3/4” of support on all sides. In no case do you want to reduce this support below 1/2”.

The SureSeal Glazing System has been successfully used with both steel and aluminum tubing or square framing, as well as wood framing. When used with steel framing, the aluminum extrusions should be isolated from the steel by the use of glazing tape or other insulating material to prevent electrolytic corrosion.
