Installation Guidelines: Final Touches - Trim Strips
U.S. Sky

FINAL TOUCHES
Cut trim strip by placing it into the cap and cut both at the same time. After installing the cap extrusion, snap in the cap using a rubber or plastic mallet or wood block and hammer. Trim strip installation is the last step so check all bolts for tightness and determine that everything is in place before installing trim. If you need to remove the trim strip, pry slowly at one end and lift it out.

Use silicone or urethane sealant to seal all expansion joints, butt joints and mitered corners. Seal all joining ends of gaskets. Also seal all locations indicated in the system layout and detail illustrations. Prepare surfaces to be sealed by wiping with methyl ethyl ketone, laquer thinner, naptha or other such solvent; the cleaner the surface the better your sealant will adhere. Tool all joints so that full contact is provided between glass and metal, and to provide a smooth surface for proper drainage.

Use touch up paint to cover any scratches on the glazing system and flashing. Matching color paint is available from US Sky in 12 oz. Spray cans.
