EXPANSION JOINTS
Use them. SureSeal extrusions will expand and contract approximately 1/4” per 20’. These joints should be at least 1/8” in width. This gap is filled with silicone or urethane sealant and will give the aluminum room to move. Of course, when installing any aluminum extrusion you should keep in mind the temperature at the time of installation. If the metal is cold leave a larger gap; if hot the gap may be tighter.
